DX-Gil

Description

DX-Gil is a naturally occurring hydrocarbon resin that is similar to coal or hard asphalt in a flowable powder form. This grade is generally used in oil based drilling fluids, where high temperature is expected.

It has been well documented to control filtrate loss and minimize hole collapse in formations containing water sensitive, sloughing shales and reduce stuck pipe problems by forming a thin wall cake and an inter-matrix filter cake. DX-Gil is still a liquid 20 degrees above its softening point.
